 A DETAILED ITINERARY FOR YOUR 1 DAY ETANDA CULTURAL TOUR

After having your hearty breakfast at your home or place of lodging early in the morning. The driver guide will then come get you for the two-hour trip. You will pass through the bustling Kampala center and taking in some of the city’s interesting architecture, you will descend to the Mityana tarmac road and join the Maram Road, which will take you to Kijjude village to Entanda.

Upon your arrival at the place, you will be welcomed by the sounds of the drumming, singing, and celebration as soon as you arrive. This will be followed by a briefing where you will learn more about the community organization and its activities. After the briefing the true magic commences, following that, men and women will be separated and taken on a hunting expedition. Each person will be given a hunting tool before they depart for the forest under the guidance of skilled, experienced guides who have trained their dogs to recognize the sounds, movements, and scents of these creatures.

Here the Sengas will take the women to the bush for a traditional cultural bedroom talk where the focus is on how to take care of and please their husbands. In the meantime, the traditional women stay with the ladies to teach them how to make a traditional meal (chicken Luwombo), starting from the beginning of the cooking session, peeling and wrapping bananas, among other things.

After the males getting back from their hunting trip, the entire group will gather to watch the traditional dances and drama performed by the talented traditional dancers. If you would like to join the group to dance or play some local instruments, you will be given permission. Enjoy the many fruits that will be provided to you later, including jackfruit, avocado, oranges, pawpaw, watermelons, wild berries, and guavas. If you don’t mind, eat everything and pack. Meanwhile, while others wait for lunch to be served, they may play games onboard and swing ropes.

After lunch, the knowledgeable Kojjas will take the men to the bush to spend about an hour teaching them about traditional family difficulties and bedroom matters. You don’t have to miss any of the jokes, laughing, or demonstrations that take place during the session.

After that, participate in a tree-planting event before going to the field to play the local team, if you are able to organize one. The game culminates with a goat roasting event. After everything is finished, return by car to Kampala, your home, or the Entebbe airport.
