DETAILED ITINERARY FOR YOUR 1 DAY JINJA TOUR.
Very early in the morning after having breakfast at your lodge in Entebbe or just after your arrival at Entebbe international airport, your guide will drive you for your 1-day Jinja tour. The tour starts with visiting the source of the Nile. This is where the Nile River crosses to Egypt. This river is the longest river in the world and known to be the major source of water to the people of Egypt making it a must visit while in Jinja. If time allow you will go for the white water rafting at the source of Nile for the good rafters to enjoy the fresh water of Nile.
From here make a stop over at the Nile River bridge take photos then proceed with your journey. Head and visit the cultural markets with in Jinja. You will have a look at the local artisans made by the locals such as baskets, mats, ropes and many more. En route lunch will be taken be taken at 2 friends’ restaurant. Visiting of the local market will get you immersed into the culture of Basoga people with your guide taking you into the history of these eastern people who are one of the indigenous people of Uganda.
After having lunch in the late afternoon drive to Bujagali falls for a boat cruise. Once thought to be the source of River Nile. The big part of the fall is currently submerged by the Bujagali dam that was constructed to solve the power shortage in Uganda, but it still offers a lot to see and appreciate. This is the point where River Nile exit Lake Victoria with water running at extremely high speed.
After exploring Bujagali, you will head to your return journey to Kampala through Mabira Forest, once known to be the biggest rain forest in the world. You will be able to encounter baboons alongside the road as you are driving back to Entebbe or Kampala where you will be dropped either to your lodge or airport and that will be the end of this tour.
