2 DAYS BIRDING TOUR ENTEBBE

The 2 days birding tour is an immersive tour that gives you an opportunity to observe a range of aquatic, open country, and forest bird species, including the Grey Woodpecker, at the Entebbe Botanical Garden and the Mabamba wetland, which is known for housing the endangered Shoebill Stork.  Visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center and have a look at the rare bird species such as the ostriches. Day 1: Arrival and visit the Entebbe Botanical gardens

After your arrival at the airport, ready with your driver guide drive to Entebbe Botanical gardens for your birding expedition. The tour commences at Entebbe Botanical Gardens one of the perfect spots for nature walks and birding.

Some of the birds to see include Great Blue and Ross’s Turacos, Red Chested, Klaas’s and Diederik Cuckoo, Great Reed Warbler, Fain Tailed Widow bird, Striped, Malachite, Giant, Woodland and Pygmy Kingfishers, Black Bishop, Grey Woodpecker, Olive, Olive bellied, Red chested, superb and many more.

In the late afternoon depart to UWEC one of the countries most protected reserves with over 170 species of birds. Some of the birds to see include pink backed pelicans, ostriches, African fish Eagle and many more.

Day 2: Birding in Mabamba

After taking your early morning meal, depart for your birdwatching excursion to Mabamba Swamp, which is situated on the shores of Lake Victoria. To get to the island, you will take a motorized traditional canoe trip.

Birding is the main highlight of the excursion so expect to see various bird species including the rare shoebill stork in the neighborhood and thick vegetations.

Upon arriving at the island. ready with your birding tour guide engage in a briefing as he provides guidance on the best birding trails to use. The swamp is a home to a variety of bird species including the rare shoebill stork and many more.
