Day 2 allows you to cross to the pearl of Africa for your once lifetime gorilla trekking adventure in Mgahinga, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the magnificent mountain gorillas.
Immerse yourself in the culture of the Batwa Pygmies by learning about their rich history and customs, which include a visit to their historic hideout in Garama Cave. From Day 5 will allow you hike the second tallest volcano as you view number of attractions. Day 1: Arrival at Kigali airport, pick up and city tour.
Day 2: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

A DETAILED ITNIERARY ABOUT THE 6 DAYS MAGICAL MGAHINGA
Day 1: Kigali airport arrival and pick up
After your arrival at Kigali airport our guide will be ready at the airport to receive you.
Depending on your arrival time you may be able to do a short city tour visiting different areas of interest such as the Kigali’s craft markets. Here you will be able to see a number of craft materials and many more.
En route Lunch will be taken with in Kigali city.
Day 2: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Early morning after having breakfast prepare to transfer to Uganda’s smallest park that is situated in the south of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is a 33 sq km (13 sq mile) in size and lies 14km (8 miles) from the town of Kisoro.
The park shares its borders with Rwanda and DRC Congo both of which protect their own piece of the Virunga and volcanoes. The journey is approximately a 5 to 6 hours, on your journey expect to see the beautiful views of the surrounding. Upon your arrival in Mgahinga, check in dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking
Today is your amazing day for meeting up with these gentle great apes in their habitat. Have your early morning meals then depart with your guide to the park’s headquarters. here you will be given a briefing about the dos and don’ts to follow while in the jungle.
From here ready with your trekking gears, you will join a group of 8 people and go into the forest to search for these great apes. Upon meeting them only one hour is offered for interaction with the mountain gorilla, it includes, taking photos, see them feed and many more.
After trekking you will descend to the park head quarter, then your guide will take you to the lodge to have lunch. After having lunch then relax around at your lodge as you wait for dinner and overnight stay in the evening.

Day 4: Visit a Batwa pygmy and see the Hideout at Garama Cave
Today, you will discover the Batwa people’s traditional ways of life as they take you into the forest and demonstrate how they used to live there until they were forced out due to park conservation measures.
Visit the Batwa and explore the Garama cave which is 343m long and 14m deep. Today the cave is among the must-see areas while you do a cultural visit to the Batwa.
The cave is inhabited mainly only by bats, however your Batwa guide will offer a rich history about the Batwa while in this cave. The cave was a hiding place for the Batwa.
From here you will have to descend as you pass through montane woodlands thus spotting several birds and different plant species. The trail ends up in the Garama Cave where you hear the mournful cries of the women as they lament what has been lost. After your exploration of the Batwa return to your lodge, have lunch relax around as you prepare for your next adventure tomorrow.

Day 5: Volcano Climb
Today after breakfast, with your packed lunch and safe bottled drinking water you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about your hiking Mt Muhabura adventure. This is the second highest among the 3 volcanoes found in Mgahinga national park with 4127m feet. lt separates Rwanda and Uganda. Hiking Mt Muhabura is approximately a 7 to 8 hours.
Hiking mt Muhavura is a thrilling activity since it provides breathtaking views of the surrounding and it harbours a crater lake. You still have a chance to view some animals such as forest elephants, golden monkeys, buffaloes and many more.
After your hiking adventure, return to your lodge refreshen dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Return to Kigali:
You will take your early breakfast in the morning and prepare to return to Kigali. The journey is approximately a 5 to 6 hours drive, and it offers you with spectacular views of the surrounding.
Upon your arrival at Kigali international airport your 6 days Mgahinga magical trip will have ended.
